Daijiro Hashimoto, the Governor of Kochi Prefecture / Kochi Prefectural Office Team
Participants : 150
Governor Hashimoto spared time for an interview with us in July. He was very frank and told us of his clear vision for information strategy in Kochi. The Governor is a good dancer too!

Tetsuto Matsuo, Mayor of Kochi City / Kochi City Office Dancing Team
Participants : 80
Mr. Matsuo is called "Mayor Ryoma" in Kochi. He participated for two days with the Kochi City Dancing Team.
"Ryoma" is derived from Ryoma Sakamoto who was born in Kochi. He is very famous for his work during the Meiji Restoration.

Wakako Shimazaki, Actress / Shikoku Bank
Participants : 80
Ms.Wakako Shimazaki came again to Kochi this year.

Hiragishi Tenjin of the Soran Dance Preservation Association
Participants : 76
This team came from the Yosakoi Soran Festival in Hokkaido. They were awarded the"Judges' Special Prize".

SUSAKI 4H-CLUB
Participants : 100
They had nice music.

Fujitsu Group
Participants : 110
I selected this team for the top picture on the '98 page. They had both good music and good dancing.

Kochi Bank
Participants : 80
Many teams from Bank companies stick to traditional Japasese dance styles. This team expressed the well-being of Japan.

TEAM SANRIO
Participants : 120
This team's music was very jolly. They had cute Naruko (clappers) shaped like Kitty. I liked this team.

Children participate in the festival as well as older men and women.

Dreamer Bay Shateu
Participants : 120
Wishing for a good match, and they sound like court music of Japan.

Sunny Group
Participants : 100
The average age of this spirited team was 18 last year. But this year it dropped to 15 yrs and they were even more exciting. They're awarded "Dance spot union encouragement prize".

Mukokuseki
Participants : 150
This flag was striking. They were awarded the "Silver prize".
